Many of you may not know that our house has been on the market for over a year...and I'm so happy to say we are in the final days of closing on the sale of our house! There were many reasons we wanted to sell our house, but it is still a little bittersweet.
For 5 years my husband poured himself and so many hours into building us an amazing home. Every weekend, and most nights, he spent building our beautiful home from the ground up. We lived in the basement for 5 long years while he built the upstairs, the day we finally got to move up it was one of the greatest days of our life! Unfortunately those would not be our final cellar dweller days! Two years later, my husband went through a very scary and trying time with his health, he was unable to work much, and we moved back into the tiny basement (this time with two kids in tow!) to rent out the upstairs and help with our income. We were blessed to rent it to our best friends and it made a very difficult time in our lives, much more pleasant! And we did it....we made it through a second time living in the basement! We moved back up right before our third child was born. I totally don't recommend moving when you are due any minute, no matter how close you're moving!
As we've been packing, cleaning, and sifting through boxes of memories, I can't help but reflect on all the moments big and small that our house has held. Bringing home all three of our children from the hospital, learning to walk, learning to talk, timeouts on the stairs, all moments encompassed in the four walls of our house.
I've come to realized the truth behind the sentiment "home is where is the heart is" and my heart is with my family. And although it is nice to have a big beautiful home, I don't want my life to be having a house, we want our life to be lived, and filled with, adventures, travel, and making memories. So we say goodbye to our house, to be more free, and able to say hello to adventures! To do something new (my husband has never lived outside of the town of Strong!)
To radically change our life to be able to radically live life! So as much as it's bittersweet to say goodbye, it's so exciting to think of what lies ahead!
2015 was such a fabulous year for Haven Photography. It held some great "firsts"- First out of state wedding in Connecticut. First wedding I had to fly to to photograph in Minnesota. First time photographing a family members wedding. My cousin, and also my bothers unofficial/official wedding photos! First time second shooting a wedding, I know crazy right...all these years as a wedding photographer and I had never second shot for anyone, but this year I got a few opportunities to be the right hand man for several super talented wedding photographers. 'It was really fun to get to work along side of them, and it was also really fun to get the opportunity to hire some talented photographers to help me out at weddings this year! I've also had a huge goal from pretty much day one, to have photos of mine published in a magazine. And this year I saw that dream come to reality, it was beyond exciting!
With all these awesome first I have some great photos to show for it! These are photos that I just love...be it the emotion, the moment, the content, or that it's just plain pretty! These are my personal favorites of 2015...and believe me, it was soooo hard to narrow it down to 15. But without further ado...here are the top 15 wedding photos for 2015
It was so cold the day I met with Whittney+Matt to do their engagement session...we even had some snow flurries. Whittney+Matt were such troopers though, cold session just lead to lots of snuggling, and they didn't seem to mind!
I hate the cold...but snow makes for such a pretty session, as you can see from these photo. But the snow and cold gets even better when you've got a sweet couple to photograph! Drew+Emily, were such troopers for trudging through the snow, and braving the cold. And I would say it was worth it! Snowy, cold sessions do make for lots of snuggling and cuddling, and Emily and Drew were happy to do so! Emily is such a beauty, I mean look at her beautiful eyes...stunning! So happy to have met them and finally getting some snow so we could do this beautiful session. I'm so looking forward to their summer wedding!
